Examination Information

In order to be entered for examinations students must complete an entry form indicating which options are being taken. These will be sent to your pidge and must be returned to the Academic Administrator by the due date stated. Late submissions are fined £40 by the University. Provisional examination start dates, due dates for entry forms and final timetables can all be found on the Examination Schools website.

Alternative Examination Arrangements

Students who require alternative examination arrangements due a disclosed disability, long term illness, dyslexia, dyspraxia etc should contact the College Office to arrange for permission from the Proctors. Applications should be supported by a medical note or the recommendation of one of University's approved Educational Psychologists. More information is provided by the Disability Advice Service.

Illness and Examinations

If you are ill while preparing for, or during, Public Examinations and think that your work might have been affected you must inform the Senior Tutor immediately and make an appointment to see your doctor. In order for the Examiners to take your ill-health into account they must receive a letter from the Proctors, who must be notified in writing by the College and supplied with a medical certificate from your doctor. The Examiners should not be approached by you or your department. The Proctors will only forward medical information to the Examiners after the results are known in the most exceptional circumstances.

If you are too ill to sit a paper you should again inform the Senior Tutor immediately. It may be possible for you to sit the paper in College later that day if arrangements are put in place quickly. Keep the College Office phone numbers (01865 279801 / 287347) handy during the exam period.
