Lincoln Unlocked is a new initiative based at Lincoln College, Oxford, which is designed to make full use of the College’s own collections and resources to foster the study of private collections, both nationally and internationally. Lincoln has one of the oldest and most interesting collection of manuscripts and records of any College within the University of Oxford; its collections include illustrated manuscripts from the 14th and 15th centuries, a remarkable collection of Hebraica, as well as much more recent accessions from old members in the 20th Century.
The study of historic collections is an area of growing interest for institutions, and through our centre we will utilise not only the material resources that we have accumulated over the centuries but also the skills of our Directors and Fellows. We have successfully raised funds to support a number of initiatives within the Lincoln Unlocked Centre, including support towads cataloguing of the Hebrew Collection and the John Wesley Collection, and towards conservation of books within the Collection.
We are seeking further funds to enable us to:
• Catalogue and digitise our special collections
• Support research into our collections and using our collections as a resource
• Fund further Summer Schools and Workshops
